WHY GET MARRIED?
With all the divorces occurring and divorce rate on the rise, why do people get married, particularly after the first time around?
In the past, most children grew up around married families, even if there was domestic violence within the family, it was tolerated or a norm in the neighborhood. The consciousness and resources for response to this kind of behavior have increased to the point that abuse is not tolerated and in some cases, it leads to criminal prosecution.
Men marry for lust, love, emotional security or/and to generally pro-create through which they can live vicariously in their own areas of shortcomings.
Women generally marry for financial security. This phenomenon is most readily seen when a woman divorces, re-marries and has one or more 'concrete' babies to seal the relationship with the new husband. The marriage and having children may also create a sense of belonging and fullfilment with other females in the wife's circle of female associations.
Hence, the fight for child possession for children during a custody proceeding.
